The Browns are since 1999 in December, a winning percentage of .250. Cleveland is coming off a 1-15 year in Hue Jackson's first season as head coach. Can the Browns somehow have a .500 or better record in September and December? Cleveland will know if that's even remotely possible after an early-season AFC North round robin. Four of their last six are on the road, including the final two at Chicago on Christmas Eve and at Pittsburgh on New Year's Eve. The other two road games in that stretch are at Cincinnati Nov. 26 in week 12 and at the Los Angeles Chargers, who moved from San Diego, on Dec. 3 in week 13.

In overtime, the Titans scored the eventual game-winning field goal when Succop nailed it from 47 yards out to make the final score 12–9. The Browns returned home after a tough road loss to take on the Jaguars. The Jags scored first in the first quarter when Blake Bortles found Marcedes Lewis on a 10-yard pass to make it 7–0 for the quarter's only score. In the second quarter they made it 10–0 when Josh Lambo kicked a 38-yard field goal. The Browns got on the board when DeShone Kizer found Duke Johnson on a 27-yard pass to make it 10–7 at halftime. The Browns committed five turnovers, including two interceptions and two lost fumbles from Kizer.
After giving offensive teammates 'nightmares,' Myles Garrett on cusp of a breakout season
These are opportunities for Cleveland to pile up a few quiet victories. Jacksonville claimed the No. 3 seed over Kansas City based on conference record. A parade was held on January 6, 2018 at FirstEnergy Stadium in honor of the Browns' imperfect season and general ineptitude. It was organized by fan Chris McNeil through the contributions of fellow Browns fans and pain reliever manufacturer Excedrin.
The previous week against the Cincinnati Bengals, Chubb tied his season-high for snaps to that point, playing 62.5 percent of the snaps in that game. The other time Chubb was on the field for that percentage of snaps was week three against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kareem Hunt only played 17 snaps against the Ravens, 26 percent of the team's offensive plays. That is far and away the lowest of the season and stands out for a few reasons. The biggest upset in this game was the Browns special teams outperforming the Ravens. That unit has been a massive liability for the majority of the year and the Ravens routinely are among the best in the league.
TEAMS ON BYE
Watson has shown far more comfort between the 20's as he's played, but the red zone remains a challenge. The speed of the game plus the amount of bodies in a tight area ramp up the difficulty and the Watson-led Browns have a lot of work to do. On their first offensive drive of the game, the Ravens trampled the Browns. They were able to run the ball effectively and take advantage of their size advantage between a hulking offensive line, tight ends and backs. It seemed as though they would carry that all the way into the end zone.
They'll have only seven regular season games at FirstEnergy Stadium this year. In a rare move, both teams were left offthe NFL's prime-time schedule this year. Although fans in Cleveland and Jacksonville probably aren't too happy with the NFL's decision, fans of the 30 other teams probably feel like the league is doing everyone else a big favor here. They also became the first franchise in NFL history to have multiple and consecutive seasons with 15 or more losses.
Browns and Jags fans won't have any reason to stay up late this season
With the loss, the Browns became the second team in NFL history to finish 0–16 after the 2008 Detroit Lions. Hue Jackson's career record with the Browns fell to 1–31, the worst 32-game record since the league adopted a 16-game schedule in 1978. It also was their 21st consecutive road loss, 17th consecutive loss against a divisional opponent, and 14th consecutive loss in Pittsburgh. The Browns lost 50 of 55 games between Week 10 of the 2014 season and the end of the 2017 season.
The game stayed at 7–7 through most of the second quarter, until the Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger connected with tight end Jesse James on a 4-yard touchdown with 45 seconds left in the first half. The 7–play, 91-yard scoring drive was highlighted by a 50-yard reception by Antonio Brown on a tipped ball. The Browns' Week 4 game against the Bengals is the first in a stretch of three games in four weeks at FirstEnergy Stadium. Cleveland hosts the Jets in Week 5 and Tennessee in Week 7, giving the team four home games by the midpoint of the schedule. Last season, Cleveland played five of its first seven games on the road.

During the regular season, the 2017 Cleveland Browns went 0-6 against their AFC North opponents. The 2017 Cleveland Browns played in the North Division of the American Football Conference. Here's a month-by-month breakdown of the Browns' 2017 regular-season schedule, and how we see it playing out.
The Browns countered when DeShone Kizer found David Njoku on a 28-yard pass to make it 7–6. The Chargers moved back into the lead when Coons kicked his third field goal of the day from 22 yards out to make it 9–7 at halftime. In the third quarter however, the Chargers managed to increase their lead when Philip Rivers found Keenan Allen on a 7-yard pass to make it 16–7. This was followed by Coons' fourth field goal, from 27 yards, to put his team up 19–7. The Browns scored their only points in the half during the fourth quarter when Zane Gonzalez kicked a 35-yard field goal, making the final score 19–10. In a highly defensive battle of no touchdowns, the Titans scored first when Ryan Succop kicked a 41-yard field goal to make it 3–0.
But for the second time this season, Andrews was held largely in check, catching three passes for 31 yards. In overtime, Cleveland won the toss but Kizer threw an interception to Packers rookie safety Josh Jones. Adams later scored on a 25-yard touchdown pass from Hundley to seal a 27–21 Green Bay win. With the loss, the Browns fell to 0–9, clinching a losing record for the 10th consecutive season, extending their franchise record drought. The San Francisco 49ers' win over the New York Giants later that day left the Browns as the only winless team in the NFL through 10 weeks of the season.

NFL Network is available as part of the base package onYouTube TV. So for Hunt only to play 17 snaps in this matchup is interesting. He was reasonably effective with the ball, gaining 27 yards on five touches. Baltimore is struggling to throw the ball with Tyler Huntley, but the run game is working. JK Dobbins and Gus Edwards have combined for 94 yards in the first half.
On January 13, the Browns hired DeWayne Walker as defensive backs coach. A day later, they hired Blake Williams as linebackers coach, Jerod Kruse as assistant defensive backs coach, and Bob Wylie as offensive line coach. Because the Rams went 11–5, their first winning season in 14 years when they were based in St. Louis, the Browns were the only team from 2008 to this year that didn't have a single winning season.

The Browns tied it up when Zane Gonzalez kicked a 31-yard field goal to make it 3–3. The Titans retook the lead with Succop's 23-yard field goal to make it 6–3 at halftime. The Browns then tied it up when Zane Gonzalez nailed 47-yard field goal to make it 6–6 for the only points in the third quarter. The Titans then moved ahead in the fourth quarter after Succop kicked another field goal from 46 yards out to make it 9–6. The Browns forced overtime when Gonzalez nailed a 54-yard field goal to make it 9–9.
So when critics are hammering the Browns for utilizing Jacoby Brissett to throw a 4th-and-1 pass from under center against the Bengals, that was likely a factor. Nick Chubb was on the field for a season-high 70 percent of the offensive snaps in this game. They also had D'Ernest Johnson in there for three snaps , but he didn't get the ball. Demetric Felton was utilized as a jet player for the six snaps he was on the field in the role they like for Anthony Schwartz.

While the beginning of the schedule is AFC North heavy, the end will test the Browns' ability to win on the road. "It's great to open at home this year in front of our fans," Jackson said. They'll travel to Baltimore on Sept. 17, and host the Bengals on Oct. 1, in week four. When breaking ties for three or more teams under the NFL's rules, they are first broken within divisions, then comparing only the highest ranked remaining team from each division.
